Candy has warned that certain combined dishwasher, oven and hob appliances in its Trio range may pose a fire risk.
In an official safety warning the company says: 'Although the risk is very small, we have become aware and are concerned that an extremely low probability exists of overheating of a wiring harness which could, in rare cases, result in fire'.

Candy: Candy Hoover Look To Secure £15-20m For Old Merthyr Site
Candy-Hoover, the owners of the former Hoover manufacturing site in Merthyr, which ceased production last year, are in discussions with a number of property development companies over a land sale.
Italian-owned Candy Hoover, closed its non-profit-making manufacturing facility at the 40-acre site with the loss more than 300 jobs last spring.
However, there remains a warehouse and after-sales and corporate HQ operations employing around 130.

Reports in the Italian press seem to indicate that Candy is shaking up it's brands in a bid to cut costs.
The rationalisation is to put the Candy house in order and to unit the businesses of the appliance ones under the same roof and to eliminate duplications of structure.

Candy have announced that as of Friday 29th February 2008 the prices of all the group's spares will rise by 4.1%. New pricing information will be sent to agents and spares suppliers in the week of the price increase.
This increase will affect all brands owned by Candy including the popular Hoover and Rosières brand names.

Candy Forecasts Growth Despite Material Costs
Martin writes "Raw material price increases were substantial for European appliance producers in 2006. Italy's Candy Group said material costs will not have a significant impact on positive 2006 results – but chairman Aldo Fumagalli said 2007 will bring new challenges as many raw materials supply agreements are renegotiated."
