LG: LG Aims To Double Sales By 2014
In a small report today Rueters has reported that LG states it aims to double it's global appliance revenues by 2014.
A senior LG executive said that this would be done by new products such as energy-efficient refrigerators, and overtake both Whirlpool and Electrolux as the largest appliances provider.

LG: LG To Build Fridges In Uzbekistan
LG are to spend $8.9 million (USD) to expand the production of refrigerators at the Sino Joint Stock Company (Samarkand), the monopoly producer of refrigeration and freezing equipment in Uzbekistan, according to the Uzeltekhprom association, which includes Uzbekistan's electrical companies.

LG: LG & Big Washing Machines
LG has said that its improved drum washing machines have gained popularity in Europe over the past six months.
LG Electronics has sold more than 10,000 units of the "Big-in" drum washer in Britain, Germany, Spain and Italy since October of last year, the company said.

LG: LG Slated For Alleged Energy Rating Cheats
The electronics giant LG has been alleged to be cheating on energy-use tests for a popular fridge and will have to compensate customers in the USA and now in Australia as well. So this would appear to be a global tactic although we obviously can't say that for sure.
Nick Stace, CEO of Choice which uncovered the trick, said LG had agreed to cover the difference in power bills to consumers who bought the fridge between September and December last year.

LG: LG To Recall One Million Washing Machines!
Details are a bit sketchy at this point but, LG Electronics are to will voluntarily recall about 1 million washing machines in its home market to change door locks to help prevent child-safety accidents.
LG will replace the locks on some models manufactured between August 2003 and October 2008 to allow doors of the front-loading washing machines to be opened from the inside, the Seoul-based company said in a statement. The replacement will begin on March 2, according to the a statement by LG.
